Why scheme applications fail

Copied plans and missing working capital

A project report that could describe any business usually convinces no one. Officers and bankers look for local demand, credible costs, quotations, a realistic wage bill, and a repayment plan. Many projects also budget for machinery but forget stock, electricity, rent, salaries, and the first months of collection delay. Working capital is not an optional line.

Buying before the right approval

Pre-sanction purchases can make a cost ineligible under a subsidy programme. Do not assume a dealer’s verbal promise is enough. Confirm the timing, approved dealer rules, quotation format, and inspection process with the implementing office before making a payment.

Document gaps and weak follow-up

Different spellings, an inactive bank account, a missing signature, unclear land or rental proof, old quotations, and incomplete registrations can all stop a file. Once filed, follow up with the application number and ask what is still needed. Slow does not always mean rejected; silence does not mean approved.

Agents who sell certainty

No consultant, agent, or intermediary can sell an approval. Pay only for clearly described work such as a project report, if you choose to use help, never for a “guaranteed subsidy”, cash request to move a file, or an advance-fee loan offer. Use official portals and named department contacts wherever possible.
