Put the enterprise in the woman’s name and hands only when that reflects reality. Category support is meant to help the entrepreneur who will make the decisions, manage the activity, and carry the business. A paper-only arrangement can create trouble at appraisal, inspection, and later operation.
Women may fall within special-category treatment under programmes such as PMEGP and can receive a different support rate under state enterprise routes, subject to current guidelines. Kerala State Women’s Development Corporation loans, Kudumbashree, self-help groups, and group-based food-processing support create additional possibilities beyond the standard bank route.
Choose the activity first, then decide whether to operate alone, through a Kudumbashree or self-help group, or with a partner. For food processing, explore PMFME and the district resource person. For manufacturing, compare ESS and PMEGP. For a shop or service unit, start with Mudra or a suitable bank loan. The right scheme follows the activity.
