Green Kerala’s objections mirror Water’s, plus the

Q. Tree drives always fail; why would this be
different?
A. Because the reward is moved from planting to
survival. Under a planting-count incentive the
rational act is to plant cheaply and never return;
under a survival-score incentive that earns almost
nothing, because provisional points evaporate when
the six-month follow-up fails. The program pays for
the living tree, so planters choose hardy native
species and tend them.
Q. Can you really verify survival from photos?
A. Re-imaging the same geotagged location at six
and twelve months, with species and size
consistency checks against the registration baseline,
gives a credible survival signal, cross-checked
against satellite indices where available. It is not a
