KERALA RISING · FROM EXPORTING PEOPLE TO EXPORTING IDEAS What the AI can and cannot do, honestly The strongest version of this proposal is the one that is candid about the limits of the technology at its centre. This short chapter states what the verification AI does well, what it does poorly, and why the design works with the grain of both. Part One has built the case in layers: the mechanism, the engine, the institution, the stack, the economics, and the template the programs will follow. One thing remains to settle before the programs themselves, and it is the most important guarantee of good faith in the whole book. A reader rightly grows suspicious when artificial intelligence is described as if it could do anything. The verification AI at the centre of this book is on purpose unglamorous, and its limits are as important to the argument as its strengths. Stating both plainly is part of the ethos: a framework that oversells its technology invites exactly the backlash that would discredit it. So here, before Part Two puts the machine to work, without marketing, is what the AI can and cannot do. What it does well The core task.
