A farmer compares a promoter's turmeric projection with IISR data and the Krishi Bhavan's local price record. The yield claim is double IISR's, the price is double the local record. He plants a small trial instead of the full acre and saves himself a year's loss.
Institutional data is conservative, Kerala-specific where KAU is the source, and free. It is the baseline against which any claim is tested.
